Controlling chinch bugs and ensuring they don’t become out of control is critical to ensure your lawn stays healthy all season. Chinch bugs can wreak havoc on your lawn if left untreated, it’s important to detect the problem early so that the damage doesn’t get out of control. Our chinch bug services are a liquid treatment that covers your entire lawn.
We have been providing chinch bug services for many years, we ensure that we use the best products that are safe for your family, pets, and our employees. We recommend doing two treatments of chinch bugs per season.

Chinch Bug Services
The damage looks very similar to dry or bare spots, so at times it can be hard to tell the difference. Chinch bug damage often spreads very randomly throughout the lawn, whereas dry spots are spread more evenly and uniformly throughout. After an application, there should be a significant reduction in chinch bugs on your lawn. With that type of reduction, it’s tough for these insects to do excess damage after that. However, it is important to monitor it every season to ensure that they don’t return.
The key to keeping these pests away from your lawn is a healthy regime of regular fertilization and weed control applications. The healthier your lawn is, the less likely it is that you'll have to deal with chinch bugs.

FAQ?
Are chinch bugs harmful?
Yes, chinch bugs are harmful. These insects suck the sugary sap right out of the grass blades in your lawn. After removing the moisture from the plant, they inject a toxin from their saliva into the blade. Your grass cannot recover from chinch feeding. They enjoy red fescue and Kentucky bluegrass which make up over 80% of the lawns in Canada.
How do I know if I have chinch bug damage?
It's very tough to differentiate between chinch bug and drought damage. They can both look very similar, however, usually Chinch bug damage is less uniform and the damage is in specific areas that aren't connected.
My lawn is already damaged, will your services help?
In short yes, but there are a couple conditions. After the first application, the lawn won't magically grow back and fill in where the damage occurred. However, it will reduce the chinch bug population significantly, reducing further damage and breeding. We'd recommend getting a fall aeration and fertilizer package to help bring your lawn back. By next spring, the lawn should be somewhat recovered and with good seeding, fertilizer, watering and mowing the lawn should be in much better shape. It's a continual process to get your lawn back after the damage has been done but getting it sprayed for chinch bugs is a great first step.
How do you get rid of chinch bugs?
We use an insecticide liquid spray applied to the entire lawn.
Will grass grow back after chinch bug infestation?
Your grass will not grow much after it undergoes chinch bug damage. These pests will inject a toxin which entirely kills the blade of grass and it will not recover. You must get them sprayed first and then your lawn will start to recover.
How do I repair my lawn after chinch bugs?
After you get them sprayed and there is a significant reduction. We recommend buying a lawn care package and getting an aeration or slit seed. You'll see new grass growth in a matter of weeks. It may take up to a year for your lawn to fully recover.

The damage caused by chinch bugs happens when the temperatures exceed 30° Celcius. Most of the damage happens in open, sunny areas, this can be easily mistaken for drought damage.
Lawn damage shows up as irregular yellow patches, which begin in June and spread over the summer. The grass may turn brown and die if feeding continues unchecked, and a severe infestation of chinch bugs can destroy an entire lawn. To check to see if your lawn may have chinch bugs, we suggest reading this article here to verify and test for chinch bugs.
