Sea Kelp is an amazing new service that Yard Dawgs introduced recently, it’s beneficial especially during the hot summer months to help your lawn survive during drought stress.
Sea Kelp provides micronutrients to your lawn including magnesium, manganese, iron, and calcium. With traditional fertilizer, they are great at providing the macro nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium which is essential.
However, they don’t provide the micronutrients that are key to root growth and helping the turf survive through excess heat stress. In us humans, macronutrients like carbohydrates, proteins and fats are key to our survival, however, we still need the micronutrients like calcium, iron, vitamin C and zinc to function properly. It's a similar process for lawns, macronutrients are by far the most important, but it’s still critical to get the micronutrients for your lawn, that’s where Sea Kelp can really help.

According to the University of Nebraska study, they reported that grasses treated with Sea Kelp help endure heat stress conditions much better because they have established a better defense system to tolerate the stress.
The main active ingredient in Sea Kelp is their high level of Cytokinins which is a natural plant hormone. Cytokinins help the plant to heal and repair itself, with everyday mowing, walking, drought and heat can hinder the plant ability to grow. In addition to the key active ingredients, Sea Kelp also contains magnesium, manganese, calcium and many more micronutrients.
We use the highest quality of liquid sea kelp harvested from the Norwegian islands. We spray the diluted Sea Kelp on your entire lawn at the proper concentration. It’s important to not water Sea Kelp right after application since the nutrients need to be absorbed by the plant and not washed off.
